Win Lee, a Chinese takeaway located on The Street in Poringland, is set to see a change in ownership within the coming months.
It was previously set to close earlier in the year but, due to setbacks, its ownership will remain the same for a while longer, a fact that is sure to please its loyal customers.
One frequent customer, Darcy, shared her feelings, saying that she was “sad to see the owners go” but that she was pleased that there would still be a Chinese in its place.
There is speculation that the new management will keep the menu largely the same, which is reassuring for customers like Darcy, who particularly enjoys the “Peking Spare Ribs.”
The menu at Win Lee consists mainly of Peking, Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine but ranges to include English dishes (such as Chicken Breast with Chips) and vegetarian options which allow for an affluence of options for all their customers.
This extensive variety of cuisine showcases the culinary skills of the current owner and chef, Danny Lee, who has accumulated 30 years of experience in the food industry, with over half of these dedicated to running this popular takeaway.
This upcoming change in ownership represents a significant transition for Win Lee, allowing Danny Lee and his partner to retire after their many years of service.
The community of Poringland and neighboring villages can look forward to the changes to come for the local eatery, ensuring that delicious dishes will be available for years to come.
