• No. 33, Norwich
This independent cafe first opened in 2006 and has only gone from strength to strength, winning awards for their breakfast menu and making waves with their homemade cakes. No. 33 offer a wide selection of the tasty bakes, including mocha and hazelnut, chocolate orange, cherry bakewell, carrot cake, lemon and poppy seed and vanilla, white chocolate and berry. Expect generous portion sizes that result in a delightful sugar coma.
• Cherry Leaf, Norwich
Located on St Giles Street, this coffee house is one of Norwich's best kept secrets. One of their favourite things is a freshly baked cake and a selection is always on offer. Popular items have included a Nutella cake, chocolate and cherry muffins, pink and white sponge and Caramac cake.
• Folly Tea Room, Holt
Folly is a vintage tea room in holt, hidden away from the bustle of the high street. A tempting selection of homemade cakes are served here everyday, with mini cakes included in their popular afternoon teas. Gluten Free versions are also offered.
• Biddy's Tea Room, Norwich/Aylsham
With two locations, there's plenty of cake to go around at this independent vintage-inspired tea house. One is based in Norwich's Lanes and the other is a bakery and kitchen in Aylsham. Started in 2010, the business prides itself on providing large portions and their cakes are on offer all day, with a range of flavours available, served with vanilla cream and fruit.
• Jay Jay's at The Beach Cafe, Gorleston-On-Sea
This cafe and bistro by the sea offers a pretty place to stop off for a hard earned cup of tea and piece of cake after a walk along the beach. Enter and you'll be greeted by a glass counter filled with goodies, from cheesecakes to rich chocolate gateau.
• Figbar, Norwich
If dessert is the game, Figbar is the name. This Norwich business has a small cafe and a market stall in Norwich, which only serve up sweet treats. Included in their range is a selection of twists on traditional cakes, including their own take on Jaffa Cakes and American funfetti cakes filled with rainbow sprinkles.
• Byfords, Holt
Located in the picturesque Georgian town of Holt, Byfords, a B&B, cafe and store all rolled into one, is well-known for its tasty treats and is a great place to stop off for afternoon tea or a slice of cake. A wide range is on offer, including victoria sponge, lemon, chocolate, coffee, banana bread, carrot cake, sticky date cake and more.
• White House Farm, Rackheath
White House Farm on the outskirts of Norwich started life as a humble pick your own but has now expanded to include a farm shop, cafe, butchery and more.
