Norwich City have completed the second signing of the day after confirming that SC Paderborn striker Dennis Srbeny has signed a three-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old moves to Carrow Road following six months with the German third tier side, having previously represented BFC Dynamo.
Srbeny has scored nine goals this season, and provided eight assists in 15 league appearances – finding the net in Paderborn's most recent fixture away to Chemnitzer on Saturday.
'It's been a dream for me to play in England,' he told Norwich City TV.
'The fans, the stadium and the atmosphere was the reason I decided on Norwich. I think we can make big things here.
'The coach being German like me will make it easier to understand what he wants. We had a good talk and he told me about his plan with football.
'It's the same plan as me. I want to be in a team which plays with the ball.
'It's happened quickly. I got a call yesterday [Tuesday] and flew here today [Wednesday]; the flight was okay but my luggage is not here! Maybe it's in China or Australia, I don't know, but I'm here!
'I just want to play football and show what I can do. I'm a player who can pass the last ball. I like to play for my team and I've shown I can score goals and assist goals. There are a few German players here already who can talk with me and help me to settle in.'
City's head coach Daniel Farke said: 'Dennis is a really talented and young striker.
'We won't put too much pressure on him, but he's full of potential. He's in a really good rhythm and was probably Paderborn's most important offensive player.
'We're really happy to sign a striker full of self-confidence who has scored a lot of goals.'
