Dean Smith previewed Norwich City’s Premier League crunch clash against Burnley - and we brought you all the key lines first direct from Colney with the boss.

Norwich face relegation-threatened Burnley on Sunday hoping to reduce the deficit to the teams chasing survival above them.

Burnley recorded an important win against Everton in midweek to improve their survival chances and arrive at Carrow Road in search of recording back to back victories for the second time this season.

It's a big weekend at the bottom of the Premier League table, with Leeds travelling to Watford and Everton hoping to halt their slump against Manchester United. A win for Norwich could help keep them alive for another week.

Norwich are boosted by the return of trio Brandon Williams, Lukas Rupp and Max Aarons, all of whom are expected to train on Friday ahead of Sunday's game.

Smith didn't disclose whether this game would arrive too soon for them and admitted there are also some players in the camp who are suffering from illness and face a late decision over whether they will be involved on Sunday.

"Brandon Williams is back training today," Smith said, "Lukas Rupp as well. I'm hopeful that Max Aarons will be back training as well. We've got players coming back.

"We've got a couple of illnesses but we won't know how they are until tomorrow. We won't go into who they are but we have illnesses in the camp."

Ozan Kabak suffered a hamstring injury during the pause for international football last month.

Smith has described the injury as 'significant' and has confirmed the 22-year-old will return to Schalke for treatment. Norwich do possess an option to sign the Turkish international on a permanent basis but that will depend on whether they can secure their top-flight status or not.

"He is going to go back to his parent club and get treatment there," City's head coach confirmed.

"It's a significant injury, a muscle injury that has ruled him for the rest of the season so he will go back to his parent club. It's a blow, especially when it hasn't occurred for us.

"We have the likes of Zimbo who is fully fit now and pushing for a place in the team."

Adam Idah (knee) and Andrew Omobamidele (back) remain long-term absentees for the Canaries.
