Dean Smith admits he needs to transform the losing culture around Norwich City after another weak 3-0 Premier League defeat to Newcastle.
Joelinton struck a first half brace and Bruno Guimaraes early second half strike cashed in on more individual errors to seal a routine win for the Magpies.
Smith questioned the lack of fight and the acceptance of another top flight loss that pushed his squad ever closer an inevitable Championship return.
“One of the biggest things, and I have said to them after the game in the changing room, is working on the culture. That is a big thing for me,” he said. “We can’t get to the Premier League and people think, ‘oh Norwich is a good club to play against.’
“Me and Shakey (Craig Shakespeare) were speaking after about 86 minutes on the touchline, and we are a team recruited to play football, but we are there at 3-0 down and we haven’t got a yellow card.
"Human nature makes you angry when you are losing 3-0. I don’t mean anger as in going around kicking people, but showing people how much you case.
"Making contact with people, getting closer to people. That culture is something we are looking to bring into the club.
“(Does that mean shaking it up with personnel?) Possibly. But if you look at this squad of players they are good footballers. They have walked the Championship twice.
“If we were to go down are they good enough to come back up? Yes they are but we have to learn quicker from our mistakes because we have been making some of the same errors for the 21 games that I have been here.”
