Norwich City are searching for their first Championship win in seven matches as they welcome Wayne Rooney's Plymouth Argyle to Carrow Road.

Johannes Hoff Thorup's side broke a three-game streak of successive defeats with an encouraging 2-2 draw against West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday, and start back-to-back home matches hoping to find their first Championship win since October.

Norwich's injury crisis is easing further with Ashley Barnes set for his first involvement in the matchday squad after a long lay-off with a calf problem that has seen him unavailable since the start of pre-season.

Kenny McLean is also back after serving a four-game suspension following his dismissal against Middlesbrough, with Onel Hernandez and Liam Gibbs also returning to the squad in Saturday's draw.

Kellen Fisher will miss tonight's clash after picking up his fifth booking, with Jose Cordoba the latest City man to succumb to injury. The Panama international is set for a spell on the sidelines for at least the next three matches.

Marcelino Nunez is poised for a return against Luton on Saturday. Gabe Forysth and Josh Sargent remain sidelined.

Plymouth have lost one of their last five matches after securing a dramatic draw against Watford at Home Park on Friday night courtesy of Andre Gray's 96th-minute equaliser.

Argyle have struggled on the road since their return to the Championship at the start of last season, winning on just three occasions since winning the League One title. They have only taken two points in their eight games away from Devon, scoring twice and conceding 17.

Rooney, who took charge in the summer, has guided them to four wins in their opening 17 matches with Plymouth sitting two points above the relegation zone heading into tonight's clash.

They could be without star winger Morgan Whittaker through injury and are also missing Joe Edwards, Ibrahaim Cissoko, Muhamed Tijani until January at the earliest, while Brendan Galloway and Conor Hazard are still sidelined. Ryan Hardie is also a doubt after missing Friday's game.
