Kenny McLean will miss Norwich City's trip to West Brom after the international break after the FA confirmed his charge for misconduct.

The Scottish international was accused of acting in an 'improper manner' by using 'abusive and/or insulting words' towards match official James Bell after being dismissed during City's 3-3 draw against Middlesbrough last month.

McLean was shown a straight red card for scything down Boro midfielder Hayden Hackney in the 87th minute and has served two of his three-game ban for serious foul play. Norwich elected against an appeal for that tackle, before the FA charge arrived thereafter.

The outcome of this charge has seen an Independent Regulatory commission impose a further game on his suspension. City's midfielder has also been charged £15,000 after admitting to the charge.

He will also miss tomorrow's clash against Bristol City at Carrow Road but is eligible to feature for Scotland in their final two Nations League matches against Croatia and Poland over the upcoming international break.

Johannes Hoff Thorup confirmed at his pre-match press conference that McLean was set for an extra game out, but elected against commenting further at the risk of punishment from the authorities.

"It is one more (game)," he said. "Apparently he gets suspended for having a booking. He made a tackle that is worth a booking."
