Norwich City are not interested in the loan signing of Galatasaray right-back Elias Jelert, contrary to reports.
It had been stated in Turkey that the Canaries had made contact with Jelert's agent over a prospective move in the January window, less than four months after he joined the Superlig table-toppers from Copenhagen.
Those claims are understood to be wide of the mark, however, with City not currently interested in the 21-year-old.
Jelert has struggled for league starts since leaving his home country, making only two in Gala's first 10 games, but has already amassed 12 appearances in all competitions under Okan Buruk.
He's still largely failed to meet expectations, however, after being signed for a reported £7.5million this summer.
Head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup will be well aware of Jelert's strengths, having come up against him numerous times as FC Nordsjaelland boss.
He played a part in bringing fellow former Danish Superliga players Oscar Schwartau, Anis Ben Slimane and Emiliano Marcondes to Carrow Road, and was interested in once-FCN player Martin Frese before he joined Hellas Verona in the Italian Serie A.
But City are currently well stocked at right-back, with Kellen Fisher emerging as a shining light in their drive for youth productivity and the experienced Jack Stacey backing him up.
Jelert arrived at Galatasaray just days before ex-Norwich man Gabriel Sara left Norfolk to become their record signing, and has been a team-mate of his for more than three months.
