Striker Bart Cybulski has left King's Lynn Town.

The former Derby County player has joined Spalding United for an undisclosed fee.

Cybulski was named in Spalding's squad for Tuesday night's home game against Lowestoft Town in the Southern League Premier Central.

The 21-year-old has rarely featured this season, but his departure leaves the Linnets short of frontline attacking services, with Jonny Margetts out for a number of weeks with a back injury.

Gold Omotayo is now the sole striker, although manager Adam Lakeland will look to his attacking midfielders to take on some of the responsibilities.

Josh Hmami and Josh McCammon are both capable, but both have yet to get off the mark this season.

Lakeland said after the weekend goalless draw at Hereford that he would consider using the loan market should goal-scoring continue to be a problem in the coming weeks and it seems likely that avenue will now be necessary.

Cybulski – born in Poland but resident in England since he was four years old - came through the academy system at Derby, making his debut as a substitute in a 2-0 FA Cup loss to Chorley in January 2021. He had loan spells with Northern Premier side Matlock Town and National League Solihull Moors and joined AFC Fylde in March 2023.

Cybulski's contract was not renewed by Derby County last summer and he became a free agent.

The manager Mark Hughes saw the 6ft 6in player as the ideal replacement for Omotayo, who had just left The Walks for AFC Fylde.

He made three appearances off the bench this season, without scoring, having scored nine goals last season, when he started 23 games and made a further 15 appearances as a substitute.
