Norwich City are hoping to end their search for a first Championship home win of the season as they welcome quick out of the blocks Watford to Carrow Road.

The Canaries have drawn both of their opening Carrow Road matches, and Johannes Hoff Thorup is hoping to celebrate his first victory in NR1 this afternoon.

City were beaten 1-0 by Swansea last week in an underpar performance that saw them squander numerous opportunities.

That result was made all the more frustrating by their inability to back up an impressive 1-0 victory over Coventry prior to the September international hiatus.

Thorup will make a late decision on Anis Ben Slimane's fitness ahead of this clash. Ashley Barnes, Christian Fassnacht, and Jacob Sorensen remain sidelined. Tony Springett is the Canaries' only long-term absentee.

City have the same squad available for selection as last week, with Thorup confirming that Kaide Gordon would be in line for his debut from the bench.

Watford have won three of their opening five matches under Tom Cleverley and will be targeting further progress in Norfolk this afternoon.

Cleverley, who assumed permanent control at Vicarage Road earlier in the summer after a spell as interim boss, has a late call to make on winger Giorgi Chakvetadze after he was stretchered off in last week's 1-1 draw against Derby County.

Kwadwo Baah, Imran Louza and Angelo Ogbonna are also likely to feature in the lunchtime kick-off, as Cleverley chooses from a wealth of options after his side's positive start.

Watford have won eight of the last ten matches between the sides. Norwich, however, won 4-2 in the last meeting in February.
