Ante Crnac insists his price tag brings no extra pressure as he looks to help get Norwich City back to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old Croatian attacker was the Canaries’ headline summer signing, arriving from Polish outfit Rakow for a reported initial £8.5m fee.

Crnac was hooked at the interval by head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup in the 1-0 weekend Championship win at Coventry, with the Dane citing he was not happy with his new boy’s display.

But the Croatian Under-21 international believes a move to Norwich can fulfil his Premier League dream.

“I talk a lot with the coach, we talk about everything, it helps me to fit in as soon as possible,” he said. “He also knows that what I am going through now is difficult because I am still very young, but his help means a lot to me.

“This season, my goal is to enter the Premier League with the club, adapt here as quickly as possible, progress, work day by day to become a better player. My long-term goal is to play in one of the top clubs.

"We can say that I am now one step closer, but there is still a lot of work to be done. The ambition is to enter the Premier League, by winning the Championship or through the play-offs. The team is quite young, they like to play football, they like to have the ball. We have some experienced players helping in every sense, I think it will be very good.”

Crnac, speaking to Croatian daily sports newspaper Sportske Novosti recently, was blown away by the experience of his Carrow Road debut against Sheffield United barely 24 hours after completing his big-money move to England.

“I really never looked for such things, the clubs decide between themselves (on the fee), and I don't bother with it,” he said. “Immediately when I played, I realised what kind of intensity it is and what kind of football is played here.

"I was satisfied with the first performance. It was great, especially when I was leaving the field. I've never experienced that in Croatia or Poland, practically the whole stadium applauded me.”
