Marseille are interested in Jon Rowe but are yet to submit any formal bids for the in-demand Norwich City winger.
Rowe is in demand this summer after a breakthrough Championship campaign last season and is wanted by the Ligue 1 side, Leeds United, and other Premier League clubs, but Norwich's resolve has yet to be properly tested.
Rowe is wanted by a host of clubs as the transfer market continues to ramp up and Marseille have utilised the English market already to sign Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, as well as being linked with Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah.
Marseille are managed by ex-Brighton boss Roberto di Zerbi and Rowe is reportedly seen as an alternative to left-sided winger Luis Henrique, who has failed to impress since his return from a loan spell at Botafogo in January.
Leeds are continuing talks with Norwich in their own attempts to sign Rowe, but they have yet to reach an acceptable figure. The Canaries will not be doing business for the reported £7m and value their academy graduate significantly higher than that.
Rowe has entered the last year of his City contract, although the Canaries possess an option in their favour to extend by a further 12-months.
City boss Johannes Hoff Thorup was asked about Rowe's future at his pre-match press conference ahead of their Championship opener against Oxford United on Thursday and praised the professionalism of the winger and striker Adam Idah amid links to Celtic.
“That's how it is. These guys, they train with the group, and they are important players for the group,” said Thorup. “We have to respect that the window is still open so many things can happen. We cannot affect what will happen.
"We cannot affect whether there will be an offer from a club here or there. That's also what I tell the players on a daily basis. Fortunately, they are they're doing well. They're performing well. They're training well and I will also say that their heads are ready to perform.”
