Norwich City will face Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in a friendly on July 30 during their Austrian pre-season training week (KO 6pm local time).

The Canaries have announced their final summer tune up ahead of the Championship kick-off at Oxford on August 10.

City will take on Hoffenheim, who finished seventh in the German top flight last season and have competed in the Champions League previously, at the Koasastadion in St Johann, close to the Canaries’ training base in the Tirol region.

Former Norwich loan defender Ozan Kabak is currently with Hoffenheim but missed out on the Euros with his country, Turkey, due to a knee ligament injury suffered in the pre-tournament friendlies.

Ticket information and further details will be announced by the club in due course.

New City boss Johannes Hoff Thorup and his squad were scheduled to get a first public run out on Tuesday (July 9) at Stevenage but that game has been cancelled due to emergency work on the playing surface at the League One club.

Norwich will host Stevenage in the first round of the League Cup at Carrow Road on August 12, two days after their Championship opener.

The rest of City’s pre-season schedule remains unchanged.

Norwich will now begin their programme of friendlies at Northampton on Saturday (July 13), before heading to Belgium for a week that includes tune ups against Belgian champions, Club Brugge (July 17), and Standard Liege (July 20).

The following week brings a first Carrow Road friendly of the summer, against 1. FC Magdeburg (July 26).

The squad then head out to Austria for another training week, that will now include the friendly with Hoffenheim, before wrapping up their pre-season plans at home to newly-promoted Bundesliga side, FC St. Pauli (Aug 3) at Carrow Road.
