Alex Pritchard will play outside of England for the first time in his career after completing a move to Turkish side Sivasspor.

The former Norwich City man was unveiled on Monday afternoon after completing his medical and terms were agreed with recently relegated Birmingham, who Pritchard only signed for in January.

Pritchard made just three appearances for the Blues, but his time in the Midlands was frustrated by injury struggles and a loss of form.

Sivasspor displayed interest in Pritchard during the winter transfer window but were unable to reach an agreement. After extensive talks during the opening weeks of the summer, they have now captured their man.

The former Canaries man was unveiled to the media on Monday and revealed his excitement at the prospect of plying his trade outside of England for the first time in his career.

“I would like to thank Mr. Gökhan Karagöl and my agents for their efforts in this transfer," Pritchard said. "I want to do my best in the coming period and be successful in my new adventure.

"It will be the first time in my career that I will play outside England. I want to play outside and add new things to myself. I will do my best. I'm very excited right now and can't wait to meet our fans.

"There was an interest in me last year, but this didn't materialise. The Turkish League is also a very strong and competitive league. We will do our best to go to Europe.”

There is plenty of excitement about Pritchard's arrival from those inside the Turkish club who believe the signing represents a coup and is the result of plenty of persusaion.

“We are happy to add Alex Pritchard, one of the talented players of English football, to the Sivasspor family," deputy chairman Bahattin Eken said.

"We contacted Alex again at the end of the season and finalized this transfer. Alex Pritchard is a name known for his performance in his football career, his fighting spirit and game intelligence. We have full faith that he will make great contributions to our team on and off the field.

"We are sure that Alex will make significant contributions to Sivasspor’s success with his experience and talents. I would like to thank Gökhan Karagöl and everyone who contributed to the transfer process.

"At the same time, I would like to thank our fans for their patience and support during this process. As Sivasspor, we are working to be successful in the league.

"By adding quality players like Alex Pritchard to our squad, we are taking an important step towards achieving these goals."
