Local football has been hit hard by the freezing weather conditions.
King’s Lynn Town’s scheduled home game against Banbury United in the National League North was postponed after an 8am pitch inspection at The Walks.
“We can confirm that due to a number of areas of the pitch being unable to play on, today’s game against @BanburyUnitedFC is postponed,” the club announced on its social media channels.
Fakenham Town’s big FA Vase third round tie against Gt Wakering Rovers at Clipbush Park also fell victim to the conditions.
In the Isthmian League North, Lowestoft Town bucked the trend after a 9am pitch inspection gave the go-ahead for their home game against New Salamis. Gorleston’s game at Felixstowe & Walton United also survived.
However, Wroxham’s Trafford Park pitch was deemed “frozen and unplayable” after a 10.15am inspection, forcing the postponement of the game against Heybridge Swifts.
In the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, Dereham’s home game against Kirkley & Pakefield was postponed as were Ely City v Sheringham, Harleston Town v Heacham, Mulbarton Wanderers v Downham Town and Thetford Town v Brandon.
