Lowestoft Town took the bragging rights in the east coast derby as they ran out 2-1 winners at Gorleston.
Harvey Sayer continued his fine start to the season when, after his double in the 2-0 win over Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday, he opened the scoring in the 35th minute.
Adam Hipperson doubled the Blues’ lead just after the hour mark to give the visitors a firm grip on the contest, but Gorleston rallied and set up a grandstand finish when Nathan Stewart notched in the 87th minute but it was too little, too late for the Greens, who suffered their first defeat of the season.
Wroxham built on their 4-0 victory against Ipswich Wanderers at the weekend by taking a point against Bury Town in a 0-0 draw. The home side were reduced to 10 men in the 57th minute when Ed Upson was shown a straight red card after a tussle with Ryan Hawkins. The Yachtsmen pushed for a winner with Joao Rangel and Ryan Miles going close late on but they couldn’t find a way through.
