Guilherme Montoia made his debut as Norwich City’s under-21s were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest.

The Portuguese played 62 minutes at left back after his free signing from Benfica, starting alongside fellow summer arrival Emmanuel Adegboyega.

Attacking midfielder Gabriel Forsyth, signed from Hamilton Academical after impressing north of the border, replaced Adian Manning after 78 minutes.

He couldn’t rescue three points for the Canaries despite them having had a 2-0 lead, however, the Reds leaving Colney with an impressive point away from home.

New goalkeeper Ellis Craven also started for Alan Neilson's side, having left Rochdale for Norfolk.

Manning, signed from Watford this summer after a trial period last season, had opened the scoring with a fine finish, before Finley Welch doubled the lead with a close-range effort.

Forest quickly constructed a comeback, however, Brandon Aguilera’s 69th-minute strike followed up two minutes later by Alex Mighten’s equaliser.

Both sides pushed for a winner but neither was able to find one, leaving City 19th in Premier League 2 with just one point after two games.

Their next match is free for supporters to attend when they face Chelsea at Carrow Road on Friday. Incoming loan signing Pedro Lima is expected to make his debut on the night, after he completes a season-long move from Brazilian side Palmeiras.
