Glasgow Rangers have confirmed the signing of Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell for an undisclosed fee.
Cantwell signs a long-term deal with the Scottish giants having departed Carrow Road with just six months left on his contract.
Canaries head coach David Wagner confirmed prior to the trip to Preston North End that the 24-year-old was not a part of his plans, after the former English youth international and his agent had been told they were free to search for a new club.
The Norwich academy product spent the second half of last season on loan with Bournemouth as they were promoted to the Premier League, but he played a small part on the south coast and the Cherries chose not to exercise an £11million option to make the deal permanent.
He then returned to Norfolk and played 19 times this term, but struggled for form and could not register a single goal or assist.
Speaking about his move to Scotland, Cantwell said: "I am delighted and I feel very proud.
"This is obviously a massive football club, and I'm delighted to get going and to get started. This is a massive club and there is a massive responsibility when you sign for Rangers to be the player that the fans want to see.
"They want to see a player that works hard, and a player that can win them games, which is very important, and that's something I'm hoping I can bring."
There had been significantly high hopes for the Dereham-born creative when he made eight goal contributions in the first four months of City's 2019-20 top flight campaign and was linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, but his early promise tailed off quickly along with his team's that season.
Attitude problems then marred the start of his 2020-21 campaign, but a return to form helped Norwich over the line as he won his second Championship title.
With pressure on him to produce, he couldn't find the same Premier League form that he had previously and found himself training with the under-23s before that loan to Bournemouth.
Cantwell made 129 appearances in total for City, scoring 14 times and registering 12 assists.
