King's Lynn Town have this morning announced that midfielder David Bridges has been appointed as the club's first-team coach.
The vastly experienced 32-year-old, who arrived at The Walks in the summer from Brackley Town, will work alongside assistant Neil Fryatt in supporting manager Gary Setchell. Bridges fills a position which has been vacant since Ross McNeil stepped down to become reserve-team boss Jonathan 'Joff' Hawes' assistant before the start of the season.
Setchell told his club's website: 'David already has a UEFA B coaching badge and has lots of fresh ideas which hopefully we shall be able to implement some of over the next few weeks.
'He is well respected within the dressing room and I'm hoping that he will be able to pass on and share his experience to some of the younger members of the squad as these will be invaluable for the future. Myself and Neil are looking forward to having David alongside us this weekend at Skelmersdale.'
The former Stevenage Borough man has made 36 appearances for the Linnets this term but is currently sidelined after suffering internal bleeding in a leg injury during a 2-1 win at Marine a fortnight ago.
For more on Bridges' appointment see tomorrow's (Wednesday, February 18) paper.
