The Motormen couldn't catch the clinical Yachtsmen after two first-half goals from Wroxham's centre-back pairing saw a comfortable win for the away side.

Wroxham didn't play their best but after opening up a two-goal lead they went on to win the game comfortably. They now visit Dereham Town tomorrow in what will be a big derby boosted by this win knowing if they claim three points, Stewart Larter's men will sail above their Norfolk rivals in the table with two games in hand.

The fixture at Redbridge saw a number of alterations to the squad after the Yachtsmen's failure to progress in the FA Trophy last time out. Charlie Norman and Danny Rust dropped to the bench with Matty Waters and Jordan Attree both out of the squad altogether. They made way for Jackson Ramm who returned from a suspension, while Nathan Stone, Jordan King and Matt Halliday also all saw returns to the starting line-up.

Redbridge started the game the livelier, moving the ball well on the long grass, but they could only earn themselves half a chance within the first five minutes. Jordan Conelius saw his cross from the left of the box go high and wide over the Wroxham bar. The Yactsmen then started to find their feet but a wonderful passing move between Ramm and King down the right wasn't capitalised on.

Wroxham then very nearly found themselves through on goal after a mix-up in the Redbridge defence. The ball fell for Danny Beaumont on the edge of the box, but Mark Parker in the Motormen's goal was quickly off his line to gather before Beaumont had time to steady himself.

After some sustained pressure from Wroxham, Redbridge had a chance to steal a lead on the counter- attack. Daniel Jones' fantastic run from deep saw a poor effort comfortably saved by Elliot Pride down to his left.

With just over 15 minutes gone at Oakside Jamie Forshaw found himself with a great opportunity to give the Yachtsmen the lead and score with a penalty. Stone's weaving run through on goal resulted in him being brought down just before he could pull the trigger. Forshaw stepped up and blasted it to the left of the goal, but a fantastic save from Parker kept the scores level.

However on 22 minutes, Wroxham finally found themselves in front. A Jack Guyton corner was played short to David Hinton. His cross was then met by Ollie Ebbage with a towering header from the edge of the six-yard box to give the red of Wroxham a well-earned lead.

Pride saved well from Michael Ogboin and he was rewarded when Forshaw's free-kick was deflected to allow Halliday to ghost in at the back post and tap home to make it 2-0.

Redbridge's Joe Gent shot into the side-netting while Stone blasted over as the game fizzled out. A few half-chances for the hosts failed to cause any real alarm, with James Ogunleye and Charlie Parish missing the target.

With 20 minutes to go a magnificent challenge from Ramm in his own penalty area denied Billy Drake a one-on-one. And that moment was really the last time Wroxham were troubled. And it was they who nearly found the net again in added time when Forshaw blocked a clearance from the home keeper and was only denied by a lump of mud which stopped the ball rolling into the net.
