Wroxham are on the road to Hertfordshire this afternoon as they visit Cheshunt, writes Adrian Gowling.

It looks to be another tough test as Stewart Larter's side will be hoping to gain some points to boost their position in the Ryman League North table.

The Yachtsmen currently lie 19th with 18 points from their 19 games played so far this season. Having lost in their last four outings, a win would be very welcome. Last weekend a 2-1 defeat to Sudbury was the latest in that poor run but there were signs that a corner may have been turned.

Michael Sommerfield was called into action at half-time having missed a number of weeks through injury. It was the defender's through ball to Nathan Stone that created Wroxham's goal. Also returning to the side was Stephen Taylor who had missed a number of games and he showed the Yachtsmen faithful what they'd been missing in his absence.

Another face seen at Trafford Park last Saturday was Elliot Pride. The popular goalkeeper has been out of action with a shoulder injury since October 24. The Cheshunt game may come slightly too early but seeing him back training will be another boost for Wroxham. Two players who are definitely missing this afternoon are suspended defenders Andrew Howell and Jackson Ramm.

Opponents Cheshunt currently sit eighth but have lost their last three games. The Wroxham defence will need to be at their best to keep prolific goalscorer Jason Hallett quiet. With 17 goals so far in the league this season, he tops the Ryman North scoring charts.

Second round test

The Almary Green Anglian Combination representative side are in FA Inter League Cup action this afternoon.

The select team – who have won two matches to get to this stage – take on Spartan South Midlands League (Division Two) at Wroxham's Trafford Park home. The second round match kicks off at 3pm and admission cost £3 for adults and £2 for concessions.
