Easton College welcomed Norfolk carriage drivers for their first monthly meeting of 2016.

Eighteen competitors were met with a chilly start, but the sun was shining and spirits were high.

In the open pony class Tabatha King, driving her own Welsh section A, Scherzo, and Ginny White, driving her Welsh D cross, Jack, are starting the year neck and neck in the league table, with just one point between them.

Chris Patrick continues to top the dressage scores for Norfolk with his 15.2hh Palomino, Louis. It turns out he is a dab hand at driving in circles one–handed and performing rein back. The scores for dressage are split into two – one judge focuses on paces and the second looks for precision.

Next is the cones course, a test for accuracy, so the pace is worked out at 220m per minute. This competition brought a few extra challenges – going through one of the obstacles to get to the next set of cones and a serpentine down the middle.

In the Club class Victoria Bristo had an excellent second round through the obstacles, improving her score greatly with her standard bred horse, Bonnie, to take the win, closely followed by Andrew Masters with just over one point between them.
