Lee Stevenson's third goal of the season ensured a fourth draw in five games for King's Lynn Town at Stratford Town's DCS Stadium.

The midfield man slotted home midway through the second spell, cancelling out Richard Gregory's strike shortly before the hour in a game that lacked real quality but was more than made up for in controversy.

Kieron Westwood tested Alex Street in the visitors' goal early on and then turned provider for Dior Angus whose effort again worked Lynn's keeper.

Town were dealt an early injury blow when Ryan Fryatt suffered a reccurrence of a foot injury and had to be replaced by Danny Emmington with barely 20 minutes played.

However, the Linnets grew into the game and Leon Mettam came within inches of giving them the lead when his 20-yard free-kick rattled the bar with home custodian Niall Cooper well beaten.

The second half began evenly with Street denying Angus with a breathtaking fingertips save, and Lynn responding with a spectacular Jacek Zielonka bicycle kick which flashed wide.

The hosts then took the lead in what appeared controversial circumstances when home skipper Gregory prodded home at the back post, despite looking well offside.

The lead though lasted all of eight minutes as Town gained their revenge in the right way. Toby Hilliard helped on a high clearance to Emmington who delivered a perfect cross allowing an advancing Stevenson to finish from close range.

With time running out the visitors looked the more likely to gain victory and were left fuming when Mr Dadley decided not to award a penalty after Mettam appeared to be bundled to the ground inside the box.

The same player then passed over a huge chance as he raced clear of the home defence but appeared to be caught in two minds as Cooper approached. Instead of shooting Lynn's goal scoring hero of recent weeks elected to try and take the ball around the keeper allowing for the massed ranks of home defence to arrive and extinguish the danger.

Deep into stoppage time Barry Fitzharris was shown a straight red for appearing to strike out at Stevenson.
