St Andrews made a strong start to the defence of their Norfolk League title with a comfortable 65 run win over promoted Aylsham St Giles at Postwick.
Rohit Mittal cracked 53 with Imran Mohammed hitting 43 and grabbing 4-27, while Jakir Hussain took 3-43 for the visitors.
Overstrand served notice to the rest of the division as David Yarham smashed a massive 191, supported by Billy Yarham with 53 and Jerry Bean 52 not out as they piled up 412-4 against eight-man Castle Acre, who were shot out for 101 in reply. The other matches fell victim to the weather, which severely blighted the opening day programme.
Division Two East sees promoted Bystanders starting with a good win over Halvergate, James Reddy starring with 84 and taking 4-26. Drayton also began with a win at Great Melton, Divakara Ramaiah taking 3-18 and Tim Woods leading the run chase with 47 not out. The weather won the day in the other games.
Hardingham started life in Division 2 West, following their Alliance expulsion, with a comfortable win over East Harling, Chris Sparkes with 111 and Jonathan Fernandez-Steele with 52 leading the way, Colin Watts also chipped in with 3-26. Charlie Wright's 4-21 was the highlight of Garboldisham's win over promoted Thornham. Beeston's Adrian Parke hit 57 and Ben Wall grabbed 4-16 as they easily beat Gooderstone, while Richard Hurst's 50 was in vain for Sandringham as they lost to promoted Hingham. Reepham & Salle's match against Snettisham A fell victim to the rain and hailstorms.
Bungay led the way in Division 3 SE, edging Rackheath by five runs in a low scoring match at Maltings Meadow, Kieran Latta's 44 and Phil Banham's 4-32 were in vain for the visitors in the only game played in the division. In Division 3 NE, Aldborough started with a comfortable win, while Sprowston B prevailed over Coltishall thanks to Tim Porter's 76. Frettenham squeezed past Old Catton A by three wickets in the other completed match.
In Division 3 West, Boughton's Ash Legge hit 50 as they beat Great Ellingham, Aaron Draper picking up 4-10 for the visitors. Gareth Mottram took 4-21 as Hingham A won, while Matthew Blake took 6-29 but Heacham lost out to Hockwold A. John Bill grabbed 5-8 for Saham Toney as they prevailed following their off-season upheavals, which saw their first team withdraw from the Alliance. Chris Upton hit 74 for Swaffham A as they beat the newly-combined Beetley & Swanton Morley, Michael Calvert taking 5-47 for the visitors.
Division 4 West saw Jack George hit an unbeaten 43 for Narborough & Swaffham in their win, while Will Pennington (46 not out) and Mark Pickering (42 not out) saw Dersingham home. Over in Division 4 NE, Miles Atkins (78) and Ian Doy (53) starred for Sprowston C in their win, with Peter North taking 4-16 to overcome Broadland, Paul Kitchen picking up 4-32 for the visitors. Julian Dismore cracked 78 not out as Felthorpe A overcame Happisburgh A. In Division 4 SE, Gavin Barnes (65) and Nick Asher (53) led the way for Garboldisham C as they overcame Colney, Alex Baker's 4-64 proving in vain for the home side. Mark Worley also cracked 63 not out in a losing cause for Hethersett & Tas Valley C.
