Norfolk has experienced its first white Christmas for 15 years.
A spokesman for Weatherquest, based at the UEA in Norwich, said that snow fell at its station at Weybourne, in the north of the county, at about 6pm yesterday.
'The last time Norfolk had a white Christmas was in 1995,' a spokesman said.
None of Weatherquest's other stations around the county had any snow, but snow showers were recorded along the north-east coast of Norfolk and some of them may have penetrated inland.
A Weatherquest spokesman added: 'The temperature got down to about -7C overnight Christmas Day into Boxing Day.'
Today is looking much nicer with plenty of sun and it should stay dry, although temperatures are not expected to rise much above 1C.
Overnight temperatures will be warmer than last night, but will still fall to about -3 or -4C.
Tomorrow is expected to be cloudier but mainly dry with temperatures around 1 to 2C.
