Experts from Norwich-based forecaster Weatherquest are predicting that north Norfolk residents could experience as much as 20cm of snow by mid-afternoon on Wednesday, February 28.

Forecaster Adam Drury said: 'Norfolk is expecting to see a fair amount of snow fall overnight, particularly in north Norfolk, where the snow will continue to fall until the afternoon, giving them between 15 and 20cm on the ground.'

He added: 'Everywhere else in the county currently has around two or three cm on the ground. We're expecting to see around the same amount overnight, meaning by tomorrow afternoon places such as south Norfolk should have around four or five cm in total.'

Temperatures are set to stay at freezing levels, barely surpassing 0C during the day and dropping to around -4C at night.

This will continue until the weekend and early next week, when the risk of snow will be reduced and temperatures will begin to rise once more.
