Four weeks of closures will take place on a busy Great Yarmouth road from Monday.

Beccles Road will close from the junction with Mill Lane to the junction with Crab Lane while Essex and Suffolk Water continue to carry out a major water mains improvement.

Diversions will be in place.

A spokesman for the company said the first three phases of the work are already under way and progressing ahead of schedule.

The scheme involved the installation of over 450 metres of new ductile iron pipe on Beccles Road.

Charles Thackeray, Network Design and Construction Manager for Essex & Suffolk Water said 'Works are progressing very well and the team on site have worked extremely hard, including weekends, to complete the work with as little disruption as possible.

'I would like to thank the local residents for their patience during this time and would like to assure them we are doing everything we can complete the works safely, efficiently and ahead of programme.'
