Caroline Flack's Strictly Come Dancing campaign kicked off this weekend as she was paired with her professional partner Pasha Kovalev.
But the Thetford-born star is feeling the pressure ahead of the first live shows later this monrth, said mum Christine, who lives in East Harling and works as a Receptions Manager for Archant Norfolk.
She said: 'Caroline's feeling very nervous, more nervous than for anything she's ever done!
'This time she's got to take the criticism and not do anything wrong!'
Caroline, 34, went to Great Hockham Primary School and Wayland High School in Watton before pursuing a career in TV.
She is best known for presenting ITV's X Factor spin-off show The Xtra Factor with Olly Murs, as well as I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Now!
And despite having already appeared in some of the country's best-known shows, Christine said Strictly has proved to be the biggest buzz yet.
She said: 'It's the most reaction I've ever had from her doing anything!
'She's done quite a bit but nobody mentions it, but this has been great.
'I've had emails from so many people!'
On Saturday's show, viewers saw Caroline learn she had been paired up with Russian-born Pasha Kovalev, who has reached the finals twice, with actress Chelsee Healey in 2011 and singer Kimberly Walsh in 2012.
Caroline seemed happy with the pairing, tweeting: 'I got Pasha!!!!! Very very happy xxxx'.
Christine said: 'I think she was really, genuinely pleased when she phoned me to tell me she'd been paired with Pasha, although she loves Brendan Cole too!
'I think her and Pasha will get on really well.'
Christine and other members of the family are hoping to make it down to London to see Caroline compete.
After years of watching her daughter on the X Factor, Caroline said she's pleased she can now switch over to the BBC.
She said: 'I had to watch X Factor because it was on at the same time and in competition, but now I can say that I really like Strictly, and I can be a Strictly fan!'
Christine isn't the only dancing fan in Norfolk either, as it seems the whole county is getting behind Caroline.
She said: 'Even in the village shop at the weekend people were telling me they're going to watch my daughter! It's been really good.
'It's a public vote and that's as scary as anything else!
'I'm just hoping the public are going to get behind her.'
Caroline has been inundated with messages of support on social media too, and tweeted a picture of her and Pasha, captioned: 'I'm so proud to be part of Strictly!!!! I've wanted to dance all my life... Thank you for so many lovely messages xx'.
