An investigation has been launched after a King's Lynn man was punched to the floor in an unprovoked attack at Watlington rail station.
The 20-year-old victim was buying a ticket from the machine on platform one when he was set upon just after 2pm on Saturday, January 12, British Transport Police said today (Monday).
PC Tony Orton said: 'He was approached by another man who punched him several times to the head, causing him to fall to the floor.
'This seems to be an unprovoked assault on the victim, who required hospital treatment for his injuries.
'The man is described as white, with short brown hair, around 6ft tall and wearing a white baseball cap. We believe he was in the company of a middle-aged couple and a woman.
'Two trains arrived into the station at the time of the assault, so I am sure some of the alighting passengers may have witnessed the incident.'
