A ship's captain is due to appear in court today charged with having excess alcohol in his system while master of a ship at King's Lynn.
Alexander Chuyko, of no fixed address, was charged with an offence under the Railways and Transport Safety Act 2003 following an incident involving a 4000-tonne Russian cargo ship at Bentinck Dock in King's Lynn on Monday, April 20.
Police said the 45-year-old was arrested and later charged with being a professional master of a ship when the alcohol in his breath was over the prescribed limit and failing to co-operate to provide a breath test.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at King's Lynn magistrates' court.
