Police have moved dogs from an animal sanctuary in Great Yarmouth after responding to a 'security risk'.

Great Yarmouth police tweeted to say they were responding to a 'security risk' at the Norfolk and Suffolk Animal Trust, on Fremantle Road.

They said patrols would be conducted and that dogs had been relocated 'for the time being'.

A manager at the centre said none of the dogs were in danger or had been harmed, and that police had been 'incredibly helpful'.

Police asked anyone with information to come forward on 101.
