A driver was tracked across fields after allegedly abandoning a car which had crashed.

It happened at around 4.30am yesterday (Saturday) on Reepham Road, in Norwich, when a member of the public called the police to a car which seemed to have been abandoned after crashing into a tree.

PC Mark Cushing, from Norfolk Constabulary's dog unit, then tracked the car's four occupants across fields with help from Norwich and Broadland officers as well as roads policing.

Norwich police said he 'located occupants leaving the area' and the driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
