The owners of a well-known East Anglian family firm have been honoured at an industry awards ceremony.
The Jary family – Anne, David and Chris – were recognised for their huge contribution to the motorcycle industry over more than 60 years, when they were presented with a Lifetime Achievement award at the British Dealer News Motorcycle Industry Awards.
The family, owners of the Lings Motor Group which operates across Norfolk and Suffolk, thanked staff past and present who helped the company grow from a single motorcycle dealership to a multi-franchise car and motorcycle motor group.
The business began life more than 100 years ago as a blacksmith's, and was later known as PFK Ling Ltd before becoming the Lings Motor Group, and has remained in family ownership since its foundation.
Anne Jary is a descendant of founder William Ling. She married David Jary and the couple's son Christopher now runs the business as managing director alongside fellow directors Paul Barkshire and Matthew Barwick.
Mr Barkshire, who knew the family had won the award before they were suprised at the ceremony, said: 'We know the name of Lings is extremely well respected and admired in the motorcycle world outside the borders of East Anglia, having served customers from all over the world.'
He added: 'But it's still an honour to know that what David, Anne, Chris and the Jary family have achieved with Lings has earned a top motorcycle industry award and recognition for their contribution to the industry.'
