A pupil who brought a knife to a village primary school has sparked a police investigation.
The incident happened at Brooke Hill Primary School on Tuesday when a child was found with a knife on school property.
The blade was seized by staff before being reported to the police at lunchtime.
Sarah Lewis, executive headteacher at Brooke Primary School, said the school "provides a safe environment" and it was an isolated incident.
“A small kitchen knife was found by staff on our school premises," she said.

"No one was threatened or injured and the incident was dealt with quickly and appropriately.
“The mental and physical wellbeing of all our pupils is our top priority and we have offered support to any pupils who would like to talk to someone about what happened.
“Our school provides a safe environment and this is an isolated incident which has been reported to the relevant authorities.”
A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary added: "The knife was located and seized by school staff.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
