Azure Outdoor Living has been named winner of the Small Business of the Year award at the EDP Business Awards 2024

With over 50 years of combined industry experience, the team at Azure Outdoor Living in Dereham specialise in luxury outdoor living solutions and bespoke glazing systems.

The business’ extensive product range includes louvred roofs, bioclimatic pergolas, glass rooms and verandas, aluminium bi-folding doors, sliding doors and windows.

It also offers specialised solutions for shading, spa and pool enclosures, and various other outdoor structures.

It serves customers across the UK and Channel Islands and is known for its commitment to quality and customisation, with a wide array of materials, colours and styles available to suit individual preferences and designs.

Azure prides itself on delivering complete solutions, from conceptual image renders and CAD (computer-aided design) drawings for complex projects, through to meticulously engineered structures.

It can also provide detailed quotations, thorough site surveys, product supply and expert installation.

The team collaborates closely with architects, developers and builders to provide a complete service.

The judges were pleased to see a “forward looking and innovative outlook” at Azure, noting the firm’s commitment to keeping up with trends, including travelling to Asia to attend trade fairs.

They called Azure “a really exciting business with an entrepreneurial and opportunistic leader”, which is “well placed to continue its rapid growth over the coming years”.

Co-owner of Azure, Dave Mudd, said the team was “delighted” to win.

“This award is a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion of our entire team, as well as the unwavering trust and support of our clients. To be celebrated alongside so many outstanding Norfolk businesses is both humbling and inspiring.”

He also said that the future of Azure is “incredibly exciting”, with the launch of its eCommerce offering set for early next year.

Barsham Brewery

Barsham Brewery, near Fakenham, has been brewing craft beers and ales since 2012.

The brewery’s Maris Otter barley is grown on the estate and blended with water from the estate’s own bore hole and hop varieties from around the world.

The judges said that it was great to see the “grain to glass ethos of the business really come to life”.

Image Experiential

Image Experiential in Norwich has been creating exhibition stands and brand experiences for more than 30 years, providing a true ‘end to end’ service that has taken the business across the globe.

The judges praised the rapid growth that the business has experienced and called Image Experiential a “strong business with a loyal and growing client base”.

Triple Bottom Line Accounting

Triple Bottom Line Accounting (TBLA) in Norwich is a B-Corp accountancy practice providing a range of traditional accounting services alongside offerings that focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

The judges said TBLA “walks the walk on purpose and has centred the business around this”, achieving impressive growth in the process.
