A former school house could be demolished and replaced with a two-storey home if a planning bid is approved.
Plans have been submitted to knock down a village bungalow and replace it with a two-storey house and art studio.
It will not be the first time Church View Cottage, which overlooks St Andrew's Church in Thursford near Fakenham, will become a two-storey building.

The house on Church Lane used to be a two-storey building when it was a school house in the 1940s.
The school then relocated but the property remained a two-storey building until the mid-1960s when the owners at the time decided to demolish the upper floor.
The property has remained a bungalow since.

If the plans are approved by North Norfolk District Council, Felix Gedney, the applicant, will also be able to build a garden art studio and install solar panels at the property.
Paul Claxton, the agent acting on behalf of Mr Gedney, said in the application: "The applicants plan to rebuild the dwelling for themselves and their children and have no interest in marketing the property once constructed."
Thursford Parish Council has already given the plans its seal of approval.
