A primary school will remain closed for a second day following a flood caused by a burst pipe.

Parents of children at North Denes Primary School in Great Yarmouth were first alerted of the burst water pipe that caused the flood at 7.50am on Monday.

Now nearly 24 hours later it has been announced that the school will remain closed due to "ongoing issues with flooding".

A spokeswoman for the school said: "We had to turn off all the water and electricity, so we were unable to open.

"We have plumbers and assessors currently in school and we will update you all as soon as we have more information."

According to reports, the floors of both school halls have been flooded.

It is not yet clear when the school will reopen.
