A building that was gutted in a devastating fire could be torn down over fears for public safety.
Mary Carberry is seeking permission from Great Yarmouth Borough Council to demolish the building at number 17 Northgate Street in Great Yarmouth.
The application follows a huge blaze at the site in June this year which saw firefighters rescue one man and 10 dogs who were trapped in a flat.
Another dog who was taken from the burnt-out building after being trapped there for four days was later put to sleep.
A structural survey and condition report, submitted with the application, states that number 17 is "completely gutted and is in a dangerous condition".
The walls on both ends of the building, which is Grade II listed, are structurally unsafe and all the floor and roof bridging timbers have been dangerously burnt out, it says.
The main dividing wall between 17 and 18 is "severely damaged and structurally unstable" and could cause the building at 18-20 to collapse.
According to the report, the danger to the public and the adjoining owners and their tenants is high.
A borough council conservation officer who was consulted over the plans has asked for a full structural engineer's report.
They said the information in the application is "not sufficient to justify the demolition of a Grade II listed building".
It was unclear how the building was subdivided and how number 17 could be demolished without causing serious further harm to the structural integrity of number 16, they added.

On the day of the blaze, thick black smoke was seen rising into the sky as the firefighters rescued a man using a ladder at the front of the burning building.
The dogs were supported with specialist oxygen masks.
The applicant has an address on Church Road in Sea Palling.
