A Norwich hotel has entered a "new chapter", with a new bar and restaurant opening at the site.

St Giles House in St Giles Street has undergone a major refurbishment to make it a destination for drinking and dining. 

Eades Bar and Lounge will open on December 4 and offer wines, beers and cocktails in stylish surroundings.

St Giles House has also welcomed Restaurant Ortus as part of its new kitchen residency calendar. 

Led by chef Nathan Rackham, it is from the same team behind Rollin Embers and Journal Dining.

It will serve seasonal dishes, including Norfolk venison and pan-roasted cod. 

Sunday roasts and Christmas Day and party menus are also available.

Restaurant Ortus will be at St Giles House from December 7 until March and to start with it will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Alex White, head of marketing, said: "We are thrilled to be starting this new chapter for St Giles House.
