Norfolk's newest Lidl store is opening its doors to shoppers this week.

It will launch in Bexwell Road, Downham Market, on Thursday and is set to bring 40 new jobs to the area.

The store spans 1,251m² and features a bakery, one of the brand's famous middle aisles and customer facilities including toilets and a baby changing station.

The occasion will be marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony including students from Hillcrest Primary School.

Andrew Hodgkinson, regional head of property at Lidl GB, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be opening our first store here in Downham Market.

"Those who previously travelled to King's Lynn now have easy access to their Lidl festive favourites, while new customers will get to experience a Lidl Christmas for the first time.

"As well as providing residents with quality, affordable products, we are committed to making a positive impact in the community.

"It’s been our privilege to support Hillcrest Primary School with a donation for sensory equipment and we look forward to celebrating the store launch with the pupils during the ribbon cutting.”
