The proposed closure of a medical centre in a growing neighbourhood is set to be scrutinised by councillors.
Health bosses are considering a plan to shut down Toftwood Medical Centre, near Dereham.
NHS Norfolk and Waveney opened a consultation into the proposal in October, with the site's current contract due to expire at the end of March.
Primary care leaders say the surgery building is currently too small and would need considerable investment to continue operating.
It has instead been proposed its 4,000 patients be split between the neighbouring Orchard and Theatre Royal surgeries.
The controversial proposals have been met with serious concerns from patients and Mid Norfolk MP George Freeman has held talks with NHS bosses in hopes of saving it.
Results of the consultation will be made public on Tuesday, with a decision on its future to be made by the region's primary care commissioning committee the following week, on December 10.
But ahead of this, the proposals will be scrutinised by county and district councillors.
An extraordinary meeting of Norfolk's health and overview scrutiny committee (HOSC) to discuss the proposals will take place on Thursday, December 5.
