The Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra is set to perform Mahler's Fourth Symphony at the King's Centre, Norwich, on Saturday, December 7.
The concert is part of the orchestra's ongoing Mahler cycle and will be conducted by Matthew Andrews, with soprano soloist Catherine May.
Mahler's Fourth Symphony, known for its accessibility and popularity, was penned at the turn of the 19th century, with the final movement featuring a solo soprano song written earlier, depicting a child's vision of heaven.

The performance will also include a rare piece by Gustav Holst, Indra, in a special new performance edition to mark the composer's 150th anniversary.
This early orchestral work reflects Holst's interest in Indian culture and Sanskrit legend and is a unique opportunity for audiences to experience it live.
Holst's better-known works include the Planets and the Perfect Fool.
The programme concludes with Sibelius's tone poem Pohjola’s Daughter, a symphonic fantasy based on a Finnish legend about an ice maiden setting impossible challenges for a Nordic voyager.
