A care home is "saddened" after its outdoor Christmas lights and decorations were cut down less than 24 hours after they were put up.

Residents, families, and employees at Blyford Residential Home in Blyford Road, Lowestoft, decorated the building inside and outside for Christmas on Monday, November 25.

But by the next morning, lights around the hedges had been cut into "five or six pieces".

And then on the morning of November 28, the home found its icicle lights had also been cut.

Marc Scott, manager of Blyford Residential Home, said: "The residents feel really sad that this happened in this day in age.

"We made it a big thing."

The lights were funded by fundraising throughout the year and Mr Scott said "we cannot justify replacing these due to the risk of them being damaged again".

But Mr Scott said that even though this has happened, "we won't let it spoil Christmas."

Members of the public online have offered to contribute and donate for new lights to be displayed on the home.
