A closed diner which served both humans and their canine companions at a seaside destination could be transformed into flat.
Plans have been lodged with North Norfolk District Council to transform Doggie Diner on Mount Street, Cromer, into a two -bedroom ground floor flat to avoid "another empty shop" in the town.
A planning document said: "It is apparent that a café is not sustainable on this stretch of road, despite being a short distance from the prime retail area in Cromer, in Church Street, footfall is drastically reduced.

"This can be supported by the lack of interest when the property was marketed to the retail trade by Arnolds Keys 5-6 years ago.
"It is likely that without a change of use being permitted, that the property will be another empty shop sitting on the main entry route in to Cromer."
The award-winning establishment, named most dog friendly café two years in a row, closed earlier this year.
The building already houses four flats on the first and second floors above the closed café.
A planning document explains that the property is within the local conservation area, therefore the "removal of the retail signage should be seen as an enhancement to the area".
