A teenager is set to become the latest landlord of a village pub, as he takes his first step into business ownership.
At just 19 years old, Lewis Allen is preparing to take over the management of The Gaultree Inn in Emneth.
With a background in hospitality that includes bar work and a stint at McDonald’s, Mr. Allen officially takes the reins on December 1 and is already looking to make his mark on the community.
"I'm focused on building a family-friendly pub that brings people together," he said.
"The aim is to create a warm welcoming pub for everyone to enjoy."
The venture will be a family affair, with Mr Allen’s parents and brother set to join him in the day-to-day running of the pub.
His plans include introducing regular entertainment events to foster a community spirit, commencing with a Christmas Quiz on December 19.
Initially, the pub will focus on serving drinks, with food offerings, including hearty favourites such as jacket potatoes and paninis, to be introduced once kitchen renovations have taken place.
