A city library has been left scrambling to find a Jurassic friend after its sudden disappearance sparked fears that it might have gone extinct for good.

The blue T-Rex statue was once known to live within the 8-14 Readers Library section of Norwich's Millennium Library alongside an orange partner in crime.

But now the dino is at large after library workers noticed it had stomped off elsewhere and gone missing when they were moving some shelves around on November 18.

Have you seen the library's missing "murderous" pal? (Image: Norfolk Library and Information Service) Dubbed "Tyrannosaurus-Treks-To-Safety", the missing creature is described as being 2ft 9ins and blue with a "plentiful" amount of teeth for chomping.

The Forum - where the library is located - is currently scouring CCTV footage to see if they can help crack the case.

A spokesman for the Millennium Library said: "Have you seen our blue dinosaur? He’s a little under three feet tall and we’re very fond of him.

"If you’ve seen him out and about - please let us know. We’re hoping an over-eager person has just hidden him in a cupboard somewhere, but who knows."

They added that "despite the memes, this is not a joke."

Anyone who might have seen the missing statue should contact the Millennium Library.
