A new cottage has been given the go-ahead next to land where 300 new homes are being built.
West Norfolk Council has agreed planning permission for the new three-bed property in gardens at Crow Hall Cottage, on Nightingale Lane at Downham Market.
A planning statement said: "Until recently, the surrounding land was farmed and Crow Hall Cottage enjoyed the isolation and the views of rural farmland.
"However, the land immediately in front of the site, to the south, is now under development as a development of 300 houses."

Land to the north is also expected to be built on and as a result, Crow Hall Cottage will be located in the middle of a large housing estate.
"It is considered that the construction of one dwelling in this location will make good use of land, adjacent to a major housing development with no detriment to the area," the statement added.
Downham Market Town Council supported the plans.
