Parents at a village primary school say that children have been coming home freezing after its boiler stopped working.

After temperatures dropped this week, parents of Cawston Primary School have been reporting that their children return home freezing cold.

In a message seen by this newspaper, some parents were warned that the school could "at times" be "very cold" and were encouraged send their children into school wearing fingerless gloves in the classroom.

Oliver Burwood, CEO of Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust said: "We should have the boiler fixed by November 26.

"Once we have repaired the boiler we will be assessing if we need a new one.

"It might be a bit uncomfortable for a day or two, but the alternative would be to close the school."
