Campaigners fighting to get a Norfolk railway station made more accessible for disabled people are to meet the transport secretary.

The group hopes the 180th birthday of Wymondham Railway Station next year be marked with desperately-needed improvements.

Presently, platform two at the station can only be reached via two flights of stairs.

The Wymondham Access Group (WAG) has campaigned for more than a decade and in the summer it was announced the station would get a share of government money.

But South Norfolk MP Ben Goldsborough is keen to see changes made in 2025 and raised the issue in Parliament.

He said: "Next year will mark the 180th anniversary of Wymondham train station, but sadly it is not accessible to all.

"A great birthday present for my station would be to make it so.

"Will the minister meet me and the Wymondham access group to ensure that we can deliver that for the future?"
