Coastal villagers have been told they can't be connected to a popular bus service because it would lengthen journey times.
Parish councillors at Ringstead, near Hunstanton, asked bus firm Lynx whether it could serve the village with its Coastliner service, which runs from King's Lynn to Fakenham via Hunstanton, Burnham Market and Wells.
Minutes say it came after they received requests to explore re-connecting the village to public transport.
A previous service, which ceased some years ago, was not well supported because it only ran every four hours.

It said the diversion would add 30 minutes to the journey time and require an additional bus to be purchased, while roads between Ringstead and Holme are unable to accommodate a double-decker bus."
The nearest stop to Ringstead is two miles away by the village store at Old Hunstanton on the main A149, while Lynx services also stop at the bus station at Hunstanton.
